Book Club has arrived!!
Our first official BFU Book Club will feature The Black Family's Guide to College Admissions by Timothy L. Fields and Shereem Herndon-Brown. With our work currently reaching three high schools, we believe this is an essential resource for families preparing for college applications.
The session will be hosted by author Timothy Fields, giving parents the opportunity to ask questions directly and gain practical guidance on navigating the college admissions process.
Named a Top 2023 College Admissions Resource by Forbes and featured by NPR as “Book of the Day,” the guide addresses the unique questions Black families face, from choosing colleges and HBCUs to financial aid, athletic recruitment, applications, and race-conscious admissions.
The second edition also explores parent and student mental health, AI and college essays, recent Supreme Court decisions, and transfer admissions, making it a timely resource for families preparing for what comes next.
